I love my cat, I've had him for 10 years now so he's an older boy, but I have allergies that flare up in response to cat bites/scratches and also.. cats teeth are razor sharp and they hurt. He's been biting over everything lately. I pet him when he comes up to me and butts his head against my arm, clearly wanting to be pet, 3 seconds later - chomp. I walk by him and he jumps at my ankles and - chomp. I try to give him a treat and - chomp. And I'm not talking little love gnawing I mean hard, teeth-sinking bites. It's not every single time, but frequent enough that I'm turning to reddit for advice. He always prefaces his jumping and biting with trilling (or as I like to refer to it as, his 'murr'ing). Doesn't seem to be in pain, is eating, drinking and using the litter box as per normal. His biting has just been getting worse as he ages.
