Hi,
So I have a cat (almost a year, male, neutered, vaccinated). Recently my roommate found an abandoned kitten (around 4/5 months, vaccinatednot neutered) that was close to death and took it in. The kitten has been nursed back to health and has settled in well. The older cat is obsessed with the kitten, will follow it everywhere, always wants to play etc.
Sometimes the older cat will be very aggressive. biting the kitten with the kitten yelping or hissing in which I have to break them up. Sometimes the older cat even looks visibly angry (ears back, tail wagging). But then other times the older cat will groom the kitten, especially if it's sleepy. If you separate them the older one will cry and cry until it gets to hang out with the kitten.
Is this behaviour something to worry about? Is there any way to promote the affectionate behaviour and not aggressive behaviour?
