Hi im using a throwaway accounts btw.
So last year I began fostering this cat- She had been at an animal shelter for 6 years and was incredibly unsocialized. Five months after fostering her and gaining her trust, I adopted her. She is an absolute angel and never leaves my side now. However this changes for one circumstance-
She absolutely will not allow me to pick her up or put her in a carrier. Its impossible. While I was fostering her I had two people from her shelter come and catch her for her vet appointment, however i cant seem to get in touch with them anymore. Her rabies vaccine is 5 months overdue. She never leaves my room (its a large room) so I dont worry about her escaping but its still obviously important.
I have tried gabapentin, ive tried getting her used to her carrier every day for a year, nothing works. I tried calling mobile vets but they arent willing to restrain her. The vet has also refused to prescribe sedation without seeing her first. (this is understandable)
This worries me the most because what if theres a fire and I need to evacuate? The last time she went to the vet she peed all over herself. She is so sweet and social now but the second you look like you’re gonna catch her she turns into a demon.
Also i have a year supply of feliway. I wish it worked. Please help.
