My cat almost non stop meows. Please HELP!

Hello so i adopted this stray cat when he was just a kitten. I also adopted another kitty a little younger than him for a playmate. They’ve both been wonderful cats. But recently his behavior shifted drastically. He’s about 6 months right now I think. Ever since he’s gotten bigger I think he’s hit puberty and has progressively acted worse. I want to get him neutered ASAP to curb his bad behavior but all the vets I called are booked until February. So this is what he does... when I first get off work he’s fine for the first few hours. When he’s being a good boy I make sure to love on him, give him treats, play with him. Then at about 9 or 10 (last night he started at 7 :|) he starts this high pitched awful whiny meow. He mostly does it at the front door like he wants to go outside. We let him out once and he absolutely freaked out and was trying to climb up the door to get back in within a couple minutes, and there’s lots of stray cats around so I don’t want him to get in a fight or something. So he’ll whine at the door forever then walk around the house whining and go back to the door for hours. Usually he stops after a while but then when we go lay in bed he waits til we’re almost asleep then runs in our room and starts doing it at us. So now I have to lock him out of the room at night. I have mental health issues and it makes me have trouble sleeping as it is sometimes, so with him waking me up constantly I’ve been really struggling getting through the day. Well, at first that worked pretty good but now he just comes up to the bedroom door and meows as loud as possible through the door until it wakes me up. He did this 3 times last night so finally I got up and put him in our spare bedroom across the house. I can’t hear him in there which is great but I don’t want to leave him in there all the time. I read that any reaction at all can make him act worse. Is putting him in that room bad? If so what do I do before I go insane from his behavior?? And also this morning as soon as I woke up he was following me around the house meowing while I was trying to get ready. And he sprayed somewhere because it smells reallllly bad. I promise he has food, water, toys, clean litter. Everything! So does anyone know how I can make him bearable to be around until he can get to the vet?
