We got my cat, Bamboo, 5 years ago. He's a little on the cold side but in my family, I'm the one that he hangs out with the most. For 5 years, he slept next to me in bed every night.
Earlier this year, we got a puppy for my dad's birthday because he is a huge dog lover and when our last dog died 6 years ago, he was devastated.
8 months later, we realize that the two don't get along. And what's worse is that we are starting to pay less attention to the cat, including me, the one who cared for him the most.
Everyday, he is stuck in my room, and when he gets out, the dog chases after him.
I want to stick it out for a little longer, but I feel absolutely terrible seeing how little attention, freedom, and relaxation he is recieving now.
I also feel terrible for thinking that it's time for me to let him go and surrender him to the shelter we got him from.
What do you guys think?
