Should I Rehome My Kitty?

I adopted a 5 month old kitten over a month ago and he is so sweet and fun. I love him to pieces but I’m having growing concerns over not adopting 2 kittens. Firstly, I try to play with him the recommended 2 hours but some days I can’t because I’m studying or have a huge assignment. In addition, I haven’t mastered keeping the play interesting for him because he gets bored very fast. I’ve bought him so many toys but he does not self play at all. He roams a lot while meowing like he’s looking for something and then will sit on the bed meowing at me, but he doesn’t want to play with a toy or to be pet he wants to wrestle my hand. It seems like every chance he gets he tries to bite me gently like he wants to play, but I redirect him to a toy and he walks away. I feel like the only way he will be stimulated and get his energy out is by having a kitten playmate. Financially, I budgeted out enough for 1 kitten and I’ve already spent $1200 on him in vet bills since I got him, so I can’t afford 2 kittens.

However, my friend has a kitty a little older than mine and she is happy to take him in as she is looking for a playmate for her kitten. I feel as though this would be so good for him and he would very happy to live with a young cat he can play with. I can’t seem to let go though, and every time he cuddles with me, or sleeps on my chest, or does anything remotely cute (which is everything) I second guess my decision and keep him. I could use some advice/a push in the right direction ): Am I being selfish?
