My dog recently started coughing and the coughing spells end with a gag but no vomit. He stopped eating and he only gets up from laying down when he absolutely has to get up. I took him to the vet and he said that my dog just had a “dog cold”, and prescribed antibiotics and gave him a shot for his fever I believe. Ive just saw alot about collapsed trachea’s in dogs and im stressing myself to death worried about what if the vet didnt catch that. He has been on his antibiotics for 2 days now and the symptoms really arent getting better besides the cough. Is it normal for them not to feel better for longer? Could you guys share your advice or similar stories. (my dog is a beagle mix, male, not overweight)
