Recently, my dog was suffering from diarrhea and we took her to the vet and talked about her food/eating. We feed our dog signature kibble/wet food, but the entire time, my vet kept saying about how unnecessarily fancy zignature was and kept pushing purina for her, when it was obvious she’s just being paid to push purina (the probiotic supplements the vet gave us for pup were purina, and they had purina foods displayed in the lobby). When you compare zignature to purina zignature has better, whole ingredients, which I prefer for my pets.
It’s just frustrating because I want an unbiased vet’s opinion on what to feed my dog, but it seems that every vet I go to has a specific brand they market. I’m not so concerned about prices, I just want the best meal plans for my pets.
For people who’ve had unbiased vets, what diets do your vets recommend? Raw or cooked? Are limited ingredient diets better? Even then, I know diets are different from pet to pet, so, does anyone have advice on how to find good, unbiased diet info for their pets?
