Hello, I’m a 17 year old girl and I own a maltipoo breed dog with my mom. I love my dog so much but I think I’m a bad owner so I need help. I take my dog out for a walk in the morning and my mom takes him out in the evening. I live by the beach where there’s a lot of grass he can play on, other owners also bring their dogs there for a walk and I usually let my dog run and play with other dogs without a leash. Everything goes great until either he doesnt want to leave and starts rolling around on the floor and I have to drag him on the floor because he will not get up, or he sees dog poop while his leash isnt on and he decides to jump into it. Either way, he gets extremely dirty and the dirt will not come off with a damp cloth so we have to wash him. I don’t want to keep washing him cause I’m worried about his sensitive skin, I pay attention to keeping him clean when we’re out, but i can’t; my mom blames me for it but it’s not even in my control. I feel so guilty for it and I have no idea what to do. Please can anybody give me advice?
