Anyone had experiences with cats that are allergic to meat protein?
I am looking after a cat (not mine) that has eczema and it has been prescribed a special diet plus steroids by the vet.
The owner said it's blood panel came back that it is allergic to almost all meat proteins so the vet recommended no meat.
It's making me very sad because I can see he just wants meat every time I make my own cats food and he just gets bland food.
I tried feeding him a bit of well-boiled egg since it's not meat and is protein rich but he didn't take to it :(
The owner has given me permission to try feeding him meat I've cooked myself because, he had stolen some of their dog's food before I got him and he is in a bad state at the moment.
Any advice would be so greatly appreciated by me and the cat!
