I have 2 dogs, a minipinture and a golden retriever. The neighbor, who is a good friend, has a Pitbull. the pit has bit my wife on our property awhile back, it bit my MP so bad he had to get surgery the first time (driveway). He got my MP again and tried to straggle (my property) him. It took 3 of us to get him off the neck while my dogs tongue turned purple and he almost died. A few days ago they were walking the pit and my GR was walking with my son and wanted to play with the pit, bad move, his dog bit mine (driveway) and now he has a hematoma about the size of a grape fruit. It is now infected and I had to rush the GP to the vet. Apparently my neighbor doesn't ever take his dog to the vet and never got any shots. The vet said I'm lucky the infection hasn't spread to his all body. He gave a shot, pills, warm cloth on the wound 5-6 times a day and to come back in 3 days if it gets worse then surgery. I don't know what to do about it. My wife wants to report it, she's sick of Pit bull attacking every time it gets a chance, she wants it putdown. Its not had its shots, no dog license. One big problem is that he is my best friend, I go over his house a lot and the Pit loves to see me and plays with me as soon as I go over. Do I ask for money for the vet bills? Do I push for it to be put down? I just don't know what to do, any thoughts would be helpful.
:TDLR: neighbor dog is very aggressive and attacks toward my dogs and wife. He has hurt them. Not sure what to do. Mostly on my property or my driveway.
