My cat was put down today and I feel so sad.

I knew my cat was getting old and sick and today, at 15 and a half years old, he was put down. I’m so sad and I really miss him.

I still remember the day I went to pick him up. I was about 7 and held him in the car, where he kept escaping and hiding under the seats. He was so small and timid. For the first few days he kept hiding in all kinds of places lol.

I don’t really have any close friends, and I’m a bit of a black sheep in my family, and I know it sounds cliche, but he was my best friend. He spent all his time with me in my room, especially over the last couple of years, and he liked sleeping on my bed with me.

If I was ever sad, or if I was tired after a busy day at school, university, or work, it was nice to come home and have him laying on my bed and for me to just sit with him and chill. I spent a lot of time chilling with him.

My family went away this weekend and they asked me to come but I declined. I’m really glad I did, because it meant I got to spend the last few days with my little buddy. Still, I feel so sad that I can’t just touch him ever again. :(
