I have a 7 year old female cat who really loves my partner. However, my partner works nights and sleeps during the day, and the cat usually spends a lot of time each day yowling and scratching at his door. I can't just leave the door open because I'm awake during the day and make noise. I've been hissing when she scratches at the door because it usually gets her to stop doing something (like eating the other cat's food or scratching the couch) but it hasn't been working here. I'm probably going to use citrus spray on the door. Has anyone else dealt with a cat who wants to bother someone who sleeps during the day? Am I supposed to ignore her?
The only problem I can see is that I leave the door open at night when I sleep, and we close the door when my partner sleeps, but this constant yowling and scratching has only started to get bad recently after I took her outside on her leash for the first time.
