I have a cat that seems to be quite particular with what type of wet food he likes. He has dry food and tolerates it, I have found some that he likes more than others, but he is never really excited over dry food. When it comes to wet food he gets extremely excited but he won't eat pate, shreds, chunks, or bits, but loves the sauce! His absolute favorite thing is the delectables stews, he seems to love the actual real shredded meat in them(He also loves tuna!) but I have a few issues with them...
The price, first of all, at a dollar a piece is a bit extreme. They say on them that they are not considered nutritionally complete. They are also a product of Thailand, nothing against Thailand but just thinking of the carbon footprint of these things being shipped halfway around the world. I think I can make something just as good, if not better, that he will enjoy at home... So basically I want to make a concentrated homemade chicken stock with shredded chicken, anchovy slices(Or some other fish, anchovies may be too salty), and a few pieces of shrimp to make my own little saucy stew I could give to my cat on a daily basis in addition to his dry food. I want to bulk prepare them, can them, and keep them in the freezer in the small mason jars to have on hand as treats. I know I need to watch for salt level and keep seasoning to almost nothing, but what else do I need to watch out for?
