Sometimes I regret adopting my cat. Does the food addict behavior get better?

Sometimes I regret adopting my new cat. I really wanted a second cat. I started working and was away from my other cat a lot and he wants lots of attention all the time. He was very depressed. Sleeping a lot. Not wanting to play when I got back.

So I adopted a young cat exactly a month ago. They liked each other almost immediately. I still kept them separated for weeks to introduce properly. Eventually let them start to hang out together. There's no aggression. They would play chase each other. They even sleep together now. He is a lot happier now. Playing, not sleeping a ton (for a 5 year old cat).

However the new cat is kind of....annoying? She's very sweet but all she does to me is ask for food. When I'm home its meow meow meow meow meow meow for food. I feed them 3 times a day, morning noon and night. She'll eat her food and his food so I separate them when I feed them. They are eating more than enough. She's actually gained a bit since being here. She was originally 6 pounds. If I had to guess, she's probably 8 pounds now. She was a pretty small cat.

Every time I get up. Not even walk to the kitchen or anything. Just stand. She'll start going crazy meowing constantly for food even after she already ate. I've even tried giving her an absurd amount of food just to see how much she'll eat before she's full and she didn't stop. She kept eating and eating.

Shes been to the vet and is completely healthy. She loves food so much that she won't sleep, play, or anything, with me or with my other cat whenever I am home, cause she's only wants food. How do I know they play? When I'm sneaking around, out of site to watch. If she catches sight of me then she immediately stops and its meow meow meow. 5 minutes after dinner. 1 hour after dinner doesn't matter.

Okay I try to distract her with play: she'll play, take the toy I'm playing with and walk off tossing it somewhere. She'll come back and proceed to ask for food.

When she does ask for food outside of meal times, I completely ignore her to discourage the behavior but I'm not sure its working. My older cat knows that meal time is meal time and once its over you will not eat until next meal time. He never asks for more food. In the mornings, I feed them an hour after waking up. Older cat doesn't beg but instead does whatever until time. Young cat begs the whole time.

So overall I can't be around her or she will drop everything and constantly ask for food. She's not even affectionate towards me. She's that stereotype of a jerk cat that only wants food and I am her slave lol. Its been a month. Does this behavior get better?
