Hey all, so we adopted a Rottweiler mix this morning and he's full of life and energy and is a load of fun! He was neutered on Thursday and is pretty well recovered by now. The vet said he's roughly 2 months old, which I know is REALLY young to be neutered, but supposedly the vet didn't tell the shelter owner until after he was fixed.
I know that loads of dogs hump people and things for fun, to masturbate, for dominance, etc. I'm wondering though if it's normal for a 2 month old to be humping things a few times a day? I honestly didn't even think puppies this young humped anything at all since they're nowhere near sexual maturity in most cases.
I've had a few dogs but never a puppy, so I don't know if this is normal! He's done it at least 5/6 times today, never for very long, and never with any ejaculate (duh lol). I'm not really gonna try to stop him from humping pillows or blankets, I don't see much reason to, but I do want to prevent this from moving on to our other pets and us.
Anyway let me know if this seems normal, and what advice if any you have on the subject!
