Anyone have experience with feline chlamydia? My sisters cat has had it since birth and he’s been on antibiotics for it for a couple weeks. The treatment will finish at the end of this month.
The issue is that I’m also bringing home a kitten and I was supposed to on the 17th. The vet gave a really roundabout answer when we asked about how contagious it would be at this point. He said it could possibly still be contagious but wouldn’t say how transmissible if we keep them separated. I’d keep the kitten in my room only for at least a week and we’ll test the other cat for chlamydia again around the 24th. It should be cleared up by then.
I’m concerned I’ll lose the kitten if I ask them to wait and hold him for another 1-2 weeks.
Am I being stupid? You need direct contact between the two for it to spread right?
