Okay I need something that tastes really bad to the dog, but the cat will love. I have a 2 year old half Australian Sheppard and half Great dane dog who is best friends with an 18 month old cat. The problem is that all toys (cat or dog) are HER toys. My cat loves the little fuzzy mice that have a plastic body and his favorite thing is to play fetch with them. Since they are besties, he will take her the mice for her to throw, only she chews it until it is flat and the fuzzy cover is off. If she happens to get past the gate to the bedrooms, and one is in the hall, she will destroy it. What I need is something that he won't notice or won't bother him to put on or in the toy, but will make her leave it alone. I have tried just stuffed mice and similar toys but he gives them a sniff and walks away. He is also not interested in catnip, so no help there. Bitter apple, cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar work great to keep them both from tearing up non-toys, but I just need her to leave them be. I've offered her treats or rawhides in exchange for the mouse, but as big as she is, one bite and it's flattened. He will play with a flattened one, but I am worried she's gonna choke on one or it gets stuck. Any suggestions?
