Before I say my issue I would like to explain it a little bit. The dog I’m talking about has jack russell and chihuahua in it and he belonged to an old lady next door, who was living with a gentleman who ALREADY GAVE ME BAD VIBES. When she died the old man stole everything she had including her dog, which was a very..active dog. Whenever you opened the cage he always bolted out and barked nonstop, never letting you touch him. When the man stole everything he kept the dog despite the dog absolutely despising him, and now I believe the reason is because the man was abusing the woman as well as the dog.
In all honesty, I was planning on taking the dog behind his back after seeing how neglected and mentally abused the dog was. Anyways, I promised the woman I would take him anyway so it wouldn’t really be stealing? But I didn’t have to steal the dog. After a few weeks the man gave the dog to me. I came over finding the dog in the same cage in the back of a trunk of his truck- and we live in florida so there was no way that dog would of survived being in the trunk since the man was planning on driving from Fort Myers all the way to the Keys in Florida.
He was ready to shut the trunk and. THANK GOD I agreed to take the dog. But, since I have the dog I started to realize just how petrified and traumatized the dog is. He refuses to leave the cage and bark- which is highly unusual. He won’t even eat and he even let me pet him which is incredibly out of character since he used to be such a little warrior. But I don’t know what to do since everything I tried to do to make him come out and be comfortable is failing- he won’t even eat. I’m afraid soon he might die of grief or fear or something.
