How to get over the loss of a pet who ran away

Hello, my bird of 4 years flew away about 2 days ago, we tried everything to get him back home, put many flyers across the neighborhood, put on parakeet noises on the speaker, put his cage outside and scattered his seed across the house, but no sign of him. We even took a drive across town to see if we could find him anywhere, posted him several times on neighborhood groups, and though we've received a lot of positive support, we have yet to find anyone who claims to have found him. I want to continue to try and find him, but it's been 2 days; if he hasn't been seen or taken in by anyone yet I don't think he's with us anymore. I loved him so so much, he was my baby, and thinking about him being scared out there with no food, water or shelter is crushing me. At this point I don't think I'll see him again, on top of that I feel an overwhelming sense of guilt because I didn't know the back door was left open that day, that I don't know when I'll recover from, I can't sleep or relax because of this. I just want to know how to get over this loss properly or how to preoccupy my mind right now, I can't think of anything but this.
