My cat, Forest, has sometimes chewed and knawed himself along with licking himself. I'd known in the past that this is a technique for removing fleas. I've brushed and checked him, and there's not a flea to be found. I later found out that this is also a normal cleaning method, regardless if there are fleas or not. But how does one tell the difference between chewing as everyday cleaning, and chewing to remove fleas?
