Kitty prozac for spraying?

So one of my four cats started peeing outside of the litter box. He's six years old and has had problems with vertical marking/spraying in the past, but usually it would only occur a handful of times a year, when he was extra stressed or anxious about something.

But about six weeks ago, the spraying became a daily occurrence. It started after we got back from a 5-day vacation, during which time we had a pet sitter. On a bad day he will spray 3 or 4 different spots in the house. Most of the spots are under windows. We've resorted to taping puppy pads to the walls because nothing will deter him.

We've taken him to the vet to rule out health problems. They've done extensive blood work and ultrasounds and haven't found any health issues. So far we've tried Feliway spray, extra litter boxes, new toys, additional scratching posts, extra play time, litter attractants, calming sprays, natural spray deterrents (like citrus), probiotic treats, closing blinds/curtains, and extensive cleaning with hundreds of dollars worth of enzyme cleaners. Nothing is working.

The vet thinks it's behavioral and is recommending Prozac as a next step. I'm hesitant to put him on drugs but I don't know what else to do at this point. He is definitely an anxious cat but I feel like I'm failing him by putting him on drugs instead of fixing/eliminating whatever is causing the stress.

Has anyone had any luck with Prozac stopping a cat from vertical spraying? Is there anything else I could try before going down this route?
