So, I have two cats. I plan on moving to my boyfriend's apartment in the following months, so we decided to bring the cats to his place during the weekends so they can get used to it before any moving happens. They both love the place, take naps, go in drawers, play, eat etc. with no problem. The apartment has two floors, and only one of the cats goes upstairs. The other one will absolutely avoid being upstairs. She goes as far as the last step at the top ut will not touch the second floor. I have tried carrying her upstairs but she fights me and sprints downstairs, I also tried luring her with food, pets, her blanket, or just letting her go upstairs on her own while we are all up there. But all she does is cry from the steps for everyone to come down. Even at night, she meows loudly because she doesn't want us to be on the second floor. I have tried to ignore her cries, but some nights I just need the sleep and cave in and sleep on the couch.
How can I make her want to go upstairs? it has been weeks :(
