My 14 year old female cat, who is otherwise happy and healthy, is going to the vet tomorrow to possibly be put down. She has peed on our beds about six times now over the past couple weeks, and it really bothers my parents. They are tired of washing the comforter/sheets. I bought cat attract litter and tried changing the litter box location, but she still tries to pee on the beds. She uses the litter box most of the time, and never pooped on our beds. They just don't like being inconvenienced at all. I know it's frustrating but I feel like we haven't exhausted all our options yet, however they just want to be done with it. They put my dog down a year ago because they made him really fat to the point where he couldn't walk anymore.
I don't know what to do as I have no say, I'm only 17. I know this is more of a rant than anything else, but I have a lot of feelings right now and I've lost two other pets in the past two years already even though it was preventable. They don't seem to care, while I am grieving over each loss. Would it be better to convince them to rehome her instead? Or would that be worse for her? Thank you guys.
