I have a semi-feral mother cat and her kittens living in my backyard. The socialization window is closing fast and I'm having mixed feelings about separating her from her babies. She seems especially attached to one of them in particular, but she has shown some hostility/boundary setting for the other two. They're definitely old enough to be fostered, but would it be better for them to stay with their mom outside? Won't she miss them/they miss her? I plan to TNR her soon, and I do have the capacity to foster.
I just want to hear your justifications/beliefs for leaving kittens outside vs trying to socialize them as pets.
