Although my cat doesn't particularly like getting wet, he loves playing with his water bowls. We used to have standard little cat dishes with water, but he started batting those around getting water everywhere. So we opted for a heavier water fountain, thinking he may just like the water moving. But now he just digs the water out till there's not enough for the fountain to be a fountain. He doesn't drink the water off the floor (most of the time) either. If anything, he just licks the wet ceramic bowl. He has plenty of different toys, so I feel like he shouldn't be getting too bored.
Does anyone have any suggestions on getting him to stop playing with his water? It's getting tiring having to clean up the water every time. And he tends to tear up placemats if they're under it.
