Cat repeatedly throwing up. All local clinics and emergency are full capacity and cant take her in for tests.

My cat keeps throwing up after food and water. This has started since yesterday morning (about 36 hour period so far). I called just about every emergency clinic in the city yesterday and they keep redirecting me to eachothers clinics which are all full. We were able to get her looked at through a walk in triage and they could only check for dehydration and recommend a fast with ice-cube licks to help with the current heatwave. **It was lucky they checked at all as they were turning people away and suggesting they seek care in another city.

Fasting seemed to work at first and after 12 hours we gave her just the teeniest bit of boiled chicken breast in small strips and some more ice cube licks. About 6 hours later she's thrown up again and it doesn't seem like she's gone to the litter box. I called emergency vet care again and they said unless she's throwing up repeatedly every hour all we can do is continue monitoring her. She does have a booked appointment for Saturday but that's days away and another heat wave is happening here in Ottawa, Ontario. On top of this our A/C isn't working and we're moving to the apartment above us. The landlord wants to have viewings of our apartment ASAP.

Another note, there was roof work done for our apartment building (2-story house with 4 units) during the last heat wave about 2 weeks ago. She and my other cat had diarrhea for 3-5 days. We were able to see a vet later that week. Boy cat was fine by then but my girl remained sick until the next morning- she only took maybe 1 or 2 doses of Rx medicine. We figured it might have been either stress from construction, heat or reaction to their food. We switched food and heat wave cooled off. All seemed fine until this. Boy cat is completely fine though. My girl had bowel movements yesterday and still shows like she has an appetite but she's the type that seems to be hangry by defaut.

I'm extremely worried. I wonder if she'll be able to survive all the stress and this next horribly hot, humid weather. The fact that all clinics and emergency care is fully maxed is so sad for us all- vet staff, pets and pet owners.

Has anyone experienced this? Any advice or further insight?

Thanks for reading this very long ask.
