Like the title says. We found a kitten, and over the course of two days, while we were trying to find the owner, with no luck, started to fall in love with her. Well, yesterday we found a lost kitten flyer with her picture on it.
I obviously had to do the right thing and give it back, but my SO and I are devastated. We made the mistake of getting attached too quick and are both heartbroken. The current owner is just fostering her and lives next door. She says all the kittens are claimed by other people and are leaving next week.
Is it wrong to ask if we can make a better offer? Is it rude to bother my neighbors about her? They said we could come visit her until she leaves but my heart is in pieces. I woke up from a nap and just started bawling like a baby because she wasn’t there.
Any advice appreciated. Just trying to get through this without hurting anymore.
