My dog recently passed away but would’ve been with us for 8 years now and i find the house to be painfully quiet. The other day, when i visited an animal shelter, i met a tabby cat who really resonated with me and I sat there for a while just playing with it. In some ways it reminded me of my dog and was wondering what the switch from having a dog to a cat felt like since I’m interesting in adopting it. I don’t want to invest in cat supplies + adopt it to find out i don’t really like cats or if they scratch my furniture beyond repair (it’s not really my furniture but my parents paid good money for it and I doubt they’d want a cat to rip it up. I’ll buy scratch posts but if there’s a way to keep them scratching pls lmk) ofc I’ve been doing a bit of research but im scared their personalities might be drastically more mundane than dogs since I’ve never had a cat before.
