I (f17) live in a house with an absurd amount of animals and there's nothing I can do about it. My parents never took proper responsibility over our pets, never took them to the vet or got them fixed, and they proceeded to have multiple babies. We have had the township mail us, animal control has been called, still my parents have taken no action to better our situation. My living conditions are disgusting and I don't know what to do. I feel so helpless. We have 9 kittens and they're all so sweet but they're covered in fleas. I have adult cats as well. One of my other adult cats gave birth to two last night. I have no clue what to do to get these cats out of my home. My mother keeps telling my sisters and I to contact people ourselves to find homes but we are all so embarrassed to reach out about needing to have people adopt kittens again. It's the same response of, "oh you haven't gotten them fixed?" then me having to justify my parents negligence and blaming myself. She should be surrendering the animals for less than $100 to quickly get rid of the issue but she refuses. I want to live in a clean home devoid of the constance animal care. I can't do it. My house smells and I'm embarrassed to have people come over. I'm humiliated and I have no where to turn. How do I get these animals gone?
