The goal of this post isn’t to make anyone upset, I genuinely need advice. Here’s a little context.
I got my 13 week old kitten, Pluto about seven weeks ago. While she’s a sweetheart most of the time, the other half consists of her being rambunctious, and it’s gotten to the point where I’m considering rehoming her. She’ll constantly bite/pounce/scratch people (sometimes playful, other times in an actually aggressive way), and scratch walls/furniture. She has a scratching post and I interact with her almost every hour of the day, and on days I’m busy I come back to check on her periodically.
My biggest issue is that she has fleas, and she refuses to allow me to bathe her, comb her, or give her flea medication. She has to use the topical because it’s pretty severe and its starting to spread to my furniture. She also won’t allow me to trim her nails, and I have scratches all over my body because this.
She also chews on cords, knocks my decorations down, and there’s claw marks on my comforter. I’m afraid to leave her alone in my apartment (I have a roommate and we live in a college apartment) because she may become more destructive. I’ve tried to train her to stop her behavior but it seems like nothing is working. I’m taking her to the vet tomorrow. I don’t want to rehome her but I’m at my wits end. Any advice?
