We had to put our family cat down today, she was 17. I adopted her when she was 10 and she was the strongest, most amazing cat and pet in general. Over the past 2 years, her health went downhill up until a week ago were she just completely stopped eating/drinking and just hid. The vet told me she was most likely in a lot of pain. It’s been a long day, and I feel so guilty for not spending as much time as I should have. I knew I loved her but didn’t realize how much I did until now. My heart literally aches. Its the worst heartbreak I’ve ever experienced in my life. I know she’s in a better place but I will miss her so much. It hurts to see her empty bed.
