Hey guys, so I adopted a 3 month kitten recently and he’s been fine and great for the most part, playing a ton, eating and drinking well. Today I took him to his first vet visit 3 weeks after I received him. The vet I went to requires you to pay for the services before you can schedule an appointment so I purchased the necessary vaccinations as well as deworming in case he had any worms, as well as a flea shot. Everything went well, and then later tonight (same day) he has tapeworms coming out of him when he sat on my mother’s lap. First time I’ve seen them. Now we’re basically cautiously taking care of him not trying to get any ourselves but I’m confused as to what I should do. I literally just took him to the vet, maybe they gave him the wrong worm treatment? And scheduling an appointment with the vet takes anywhere from 2 weeks +, which is too long! I don’t think he got it from fleas, because previous owner claimed to have given him a flea shot already, (still got one today just to be safe) but have no idea how they showed up. What can I do for him, how can I take care of this little guy? The plan rn is to keep him in his little “kitty area” where we can cautiously feed and play with him socially distanced until his vet appointment but I feel like there has to be a better plan than what I just whipped up. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
