Kitty Blues, first time having a cat

I’ve been thinking about getting a cat for months, I love my friends cats and all of the cats in my family (aunts and uncles, I never grew up with cats), and finally decided to pull the trigger 2 days ago. I got the whole Shabang, toys galore, a nice cat tower with scratching post, little box, etc. I also have a sweet lab that I raised from a puppy, and figured the experience wouldn’t be the same but also it wouldn’t be extremely different. The cat has been nothing but sweet (she’s pretty crazy for a little bit and likes being under the bed and clawing the couch.. to be expected), so far it seems like she gets along with my dog although my dog is pretty nosey and wants to play all the time. However I’ve been having regrets today about getting her, and feeling cold feet. Although she hasn’t done anything, I’m not sure I’m nearly as much a cat person as a dog person, and it’s making me feel awful. I’m constantly worried she’s going to scratch my dogs eyes, I’m not the biggest fan by any means of the litter box smell, most of all I don’t feel that happiness I had when getting the dogs in my life. And although she’s adorable, my dog is my world and if they can’t get along that’s a breaking point for me. With all that, I still plan on giving this a genuine chance. And if I decided I can’t, there’s not a single chance in hell I would ever take her to a shelter. Has anybody gone through anything like this or had these worries? When will I know if this was actually a mistake? And any advice on avoiding any eye injuries?

Edit: I should also add, im really worried about my dog getting upset or too jealous that there’s another friend in the house. I’ve been showing her arguably more love than usual but still feel like something might be a little off.
