Hello, I recently adopted two brother kittens from the shelter. I’ve had them for about 3 weeks now. They’re very shy in general so I’ve just been giving them a lot of space and playing with them when they’re feeling up to it. I have a little slot under a cabinet in my room that I’ve been plugging up. Up until last night I just assumed it was a little crawl space under the cabinet but I found it was actually an opening for the heating duct. Anyway, they never really seemed to keen on getting in there but a couple days ago one of the kittens got it open and crawled in there to hide. When I come home from work he was out with his brother and I plugged it up again, better this time. Anyway, yesterday during the wee hours of the morning he ripped it open and got in there again. Only thing is I’ve seen no sign of him since then. He hasn’t come out to eat or drink as far as i can tell since last night. I put a fan of wet food by the opening but I still haven’t seen him. He’s proven to me that he can get back out and I know cats won’t starve themselves but I’m starting to get a little worried. He’s very small, about 11 weeks. I should also mention I vacuumed the floor yesterday while he was hiding in there and it may have frightened him more. Does anyone have any advice or guidance?
