First post here. I got my 2 year old rescue cat 2 months ago and she’s completely litter trained, today is the first time I’ve had an issue.
She seems healthy and happy, though she’s definitely ashamed today. I scoop her box regularly. The only thing I can think of is that I slept a tiny bit later than usual today meaning her breakfast was a tiny bit later than usual (about half an hour). I’ve done this before though and usually she’s fine to wait or she will meow at me until I feed her.
This morning though, right before I got up, she pooped on the carpet at the end of my bed. I know it was fresh because it was still warm when I cleaned it up. It was a normal poop, just one piece. She was also licking at a spot on the carpet that had something that looked white. I cleaned that up too..I don’t think it was pee but I’m not sure what it was. She is spayed if that makes a difference.
She seems fine - she poops regularly so I don’t think shes constipated, she ate her breakfast and drank some water, she’s been a bit anxious since I cleaned it up but it seems like she just feels guilty, not like she’s scared. She played with me this morning and has her usual amount of energy. She’s grooming normally. She doesn’t seem to be in any pain.
My only other thought is that it was attached to her fur and fell off there but that seems less likely since it was warm, right?
I’m worried about her and now I’m paranoid that she will do it again. Any advice?
