I love cats but I have never handled a cat pregnancy before. This was a huge surprise! She had an ultrasound and apparently only one kitten is alive, and at least two are dead (hence the small belly). They told me to wait one week for the labour, and if it doesn't happen they will make a C-section to get the kittens out. This is so strange, I was planning to have her only for one week and now it seems like it will be way more. But we will make it work!
But yeah, I have no idea how to handle it. She is in a room by herself, the room is quite warm because it has small windows. I left some blankets and a cardboard box around. Is there anything else I can do? What about the food? Should I feed her something special? I am also worried about the fact that the kittens will be dead.... Will she be sad? How can I comfort her?
