So recently my wife and I moved into our first property, and we decided to buy a puppy to complete our little family. Time has now come to get the dog doing her business outside, so I've been walking her quite regularly around the estate we live on. One neighbour has cameras pointing out of all of their windows, and left us a note on our communal door asking us to stop walking our dog around the block as we're standing in their windows, and also to stop "leaning on their car". For clarity, I have never stood closer than a few metres from anybody's windows, and I haven't leaned on anybody's car; the only incident I can think they may be referring to is when the puppy wrapped her lead around a car and I leaned against it with my hand to coax her back round the other way. We left a polite reply to their note on the door, asking them to please just talk to us if we upset them, as we're reasonable people and did not intend to cause any upset. Some weeks went by with no incident. Today, I was walking my dog with my six year old son around the usual route when I heard a man's voice say, quite loudly "that f*cking idiot with the dog is outside our bedroom window". I finished the walk off and went home, as I didn't want to cause a scene in front of my child. It seems to me entirely unreasonable that they should react so sensitively to people being near their windows. It's not like I'm staring into their property or anything, I'm just going about my business on a public path. Am I in the wrong here?
