Advice for surgery recovery.

I have a cat who came home today from getting an abscess removed from his front leg. Due to the nature of the infection he has to have drainage tubes in place for another 3 days.

The issue is that we have other cats in the house, in particular a very young and energetic kitten who loves to play. Because of this we have to keep him isolated from the others so they don't bite/lick/pull the tubes/stitches.

He's been home for a little over 5 hours now and I've never seen him so depressed. I've been with him almost the whole time but he really wants to go out and see the other cats.

Is there anything I could do to help cheer him up, other than give him as much support as I can myself?
