My boyfriend is allergic to cats (running nose, sometimes itchy eyes). We are looking for adopting a kitten from my friend. She told me it’s Birman but now I realized it might be Ragdoll, which is a problem since Ragdoll are known to shed a lot. I did a lot of research and went to petstore asking for advices, they told me to try Purina PROPLAN (cat food), Allerpet (apply it on the cat) and brushing her fur at least once every weeks. Will these alone will help? Is there any more products that you would recommend me to try? Getting an allergy shot isn’t an option in where I live unfortunately. Also, I heard some ppl said they bathe the cat. But others also said we shouldn’t do so because it’s bad for them and it doesn’t really help with allergy. Has anyone bathing your cats regularly? Are they ok with it? Tbh, I have a short hair cat before and it grooms itself so well that I never have problems with it not taking a shower. But this is my first time having long-hair cat with my boyfriend has allergy so I’m very concerned about it
