I’m very worried because for a few weeks my cat has been hissing at the door every night before I let him out. It started off about a month ago being only a few nights, then every other night, and now every night. From 10-12 he normally liked to go outside and this has always been normal for him, he’s never had any issues until now. He always asks to go out, and then as soon as he gets tot he door he’ll hiss and make a moaning meow sound.
I’m wondering if I should take him to the vet now or not. The vet diagnosed him with an arrhythmia and a heart murmur on his last check up, and we’ve been taking him to the cardiologist to see what’s causing it and what to do. I mention this because I don’t know if I should wait until the next time we see the vet (about one month) to tell them or make an appointment. I also don’t know if it could have anything to do with it. I’m also paranoid because his brother died over a year ago from an internal cancer, he hissed randomly at times before he passed, but my cat has consistently been hissing every night at the door only.
Has anyone had any similar experiences?
