i had just gotten a new kitten yesterday. i already have a dog and have been keeping them separately with some interaction here and there but that’s another story. i set up a litter box and tried placing my kitten in it but she immediately jumps out. i’ve been keeping her in my room because my apartment is small and that’s the only room away from my dog. i noticed she enjoys going under my bed and dressers so i moved her litter box under the bed in hopes she’d feel more secure using it under there but she continues to poop under the same dresser in my room. i’m assuming if she’s pooping under there she’s probably peeing under there too and it’s starting to make my room smell like a zoo. i have no idea how to train her to go in her litter box. could i possibly be doing something wrong? i made sure there was enough litter in the box. it’s brand new and never been used before. i’m thinking about getting puppy pads for now but i don’t want that to become a habit. i just need to protect my carpets for now though. any advice???
