hi there my dog, 11 year old daushund, has always had good health and stayed active. wednesday i took her into the emergency hospital because her breathing was extremely labored and forced and she vomited a few times (no blood). the vets are at a loss, she’s been there for two days on oxygen therapy and medication with hardly any improvement with her breathing. they decided to treat her for a pulmonary hemorrhage because she had fluid in her left lung, not knowing what caused it. her heart is normal and her blood work has returned back to almost normal after day 1. they are concerned because she isn’t eating, when she gets stressed her breathing gets worse. they believe and hope she will do better at home. i’m worried because her breathing is her main symptom, i’m not sure how to go about getting her to eat or drink/ what i should start with. if anyone has any advice it is deeply appreciated, i just want to do whatever i can to help her get through this. i’m worried she will suffer without the oxygen therapy at hand. the vet keeps describing her has a “weird case”, so any experience with this or insight is also appreciated. thank you in advance for taking the time to read this
