I live in an apartment and I have a gated back patio. This neighborhood cat scales the fence and gets in and tries to get me to open up. I have a cat, so I can't let it in or help it at all. Well, today my cat (skittish around other people), saw the cat in the back. She hid, hissed, growled, had hackles... I'm worried because she seems shaken up and keeps checking for the outside cat. She usually hangs around me but this is different.
Any advice for how to help her? I showed her the cat didn't come in, but she's still acting cautious and scared.
I don't know if it matters but my cat is smaller, too. She was a street cat before the Humane Society got her and I adopted her.
