I recently moved across the country after graduating college, but am only subletting until December. I’ve spent the last year and a half at home Bc of covid, during which my fifteen year old dog has become very emotionally dependent on me. I am the only person in the family who gives her affections/takes care of her past basic feedings. My parents both work so she’s alone all day, and I honestly don’t know if they’d notice if she died for a couple days.
I was thinking of taking her back with me when I go home to visit next week. I know that I’ll be able to Give her the affection she deserves, but at such an old age, is it worth it to take her from the only life she’s ever known? I don’t want to be selfish and assume what’s best for her, especially if I would only be taking her for a couple of months to start.
TLDR: old dog, do I take her with me to my temporary position or leave her at home?
