I was told by my vet to subdue my 6m kitten for 10 days after the operation. I mean, it makes sense. Especially, I was told, no running or jumping. Like, what else is there? Of course, no licking the wound, but that hasn't been a problem thankfully.
To complicate matters, I have a 3m old kitten whom I have to separate from her older sister as they tend to run, jump, and wrestle together.
It's day 3 and I am keeping the spayed one in my bedroom. For the most part, she's been good but when I open the door to go in or out, one or both of them sometimes makes a rush for the door. And they often meow for me to open the door.
I'd like to have a word with the people who told me two is always easier than one, but for now I'm just looking for ideas on how to subdue a kitten without driving her crazy. I tried bringing the little one in for some quiet play time and they both start purring and licking each other, but the younger one rolls onto her back and starts kicking her sister. So quiet play time lasts maybe a minute. I end up just sitting and petting one for half an hour, then doing a shift with the other one. They both need attention since they're so young.
Any ideas or experiences would be appreciated.
