Want opinions on my now deceased cat's condition.

My 17 year old female cat recently passed, she stopped eating, but was able to jump up to my bed, drink water and used her litter box. I took her to the vet after her first day of not eating, they said she needed to be put down, I paid for an IV drip and nausea medicine hoping it'd help her eat again, but it didn't work. She wouldn't even drink milk, only water. She had been meowing for 2 years due to going deaf and I wonder if this caused her to die? Maybe stress on the heart, a hernia, a hole in her throat from screaming etc. When she first started to meow 2 years ago, I took her to a vet and asked if they could calm her down with anything. The vet told me to "give her time", which I did, but she persisted. After 5 more months I went again and all they suggested was giving her hemp treats, which she refused to eat.

It has been bothering me that she was able to still walk around and even urinate in her litter box while she went three days without food before I put her down, like this could have been prevented. I really just wish to know if there was something I could have done, if the meowing she did for 2 years possibly weakened her and if there was something I could've done more than just listen to the vet and giving her hemp treats. The extent of her meowing was periodically throughout the day, it wasn't all day or anything. She would stand in a hallway and meow for a few seconds, or roam around the home and meow maybe 3 or 4 times a day.
