I know a lot of you are gonna hate this because I'm talking about your beloved dogs but..
This goes back to biology and why dogs mentally are the way they are, which I guess could correlate with science since it's about the scientific makeup of a creature.
Dogs, naturally, bark at anything and everything. Not all dogs of course, so those people that haven't witnessed it really don't have much to add to the conversation. But for those that have noticed that's dogs are naturally vocal, they bark and get hyped up over anything, why is it so?
A dog hears another dog barking outside and then starts barking. Doesn't know why it's barking or barking at, but it follows the leader to whoever was barking first. Why? Why follow another creature that's half the time pointlessly barking at nothing?
Dogs themselves will start to bark at anything without any influence. They could hear a noise all the way down the street and start barking. They could hear someone's car and start barking. They could hear something drop in the house and start barking. Yeah I understand the old ideology and place for dogs was to have them protect the house, but with more and more human involvement with their species, it just became excessive. Now they bark for literally anything and everything and people just act like it's okay or cute.
Literally if a human was yelling at everything and everyone, they would be labeled mental and people would be irritated by it but since it's a dog it seems to just magically be okay?
I'm not insulting dogs. I have a dog that I love. But also having a dog, I'm not ignorant on the fact that this is a common thing for dogs.
Yes people could say "train your dogs" and that's the thing. This happens BEFORE training your dog into what YOU want them to be. So honestly this is how they NATURALLY are before human interference. If a human didn't "own" the dog, then a lot of them (not all of them, so those that want to say they never had that problem, this doesn't apply to you then) would act this way.
Why? It seems to be a risk for their survival even if humans weren't involved. You're barking to let everyone and everything know that you're there, knowing damn well you aren't able to survive against any predator that's out here. You're actively putting yourself on the map to potentially get harassed by other creatures.
Wolves don't usually go around barking at everything. Hyenas don't go around barking at everything. No other creature in the canine family does it besides domesticated dogs. Why is this?
