Cat Has Worms, I have a severe phobia of parasites. Help?

My cat has been throwing up what we learned thanks to a handy eVisit with our vet (can’t get an in person appointment until Weds) were roundworms today. He’s acting normal, and I’m going to pick up a deworming treatment for him and our other cat this week.

But I’m worried about myself and my partner. I looked up “animal to human” worm infections and found all sorts of horrible info that just fueled my phobia - about roundworms causing blindness and organ failure in people.

Is that something I should sincerely worry about? Like can I get worms from just walking around our house barefoot? Should we no longer sit on the same couches, sleep in the same bed as the cat while he’s treated?

Like what is the actual risk? My skin is absolutely crawling right now and I’m freaking out. I obviously wash my hands and whatnot after cleaning up his vomit/litter box, but should we sterilize our entire home? Like, I’m ready to just torch the place for fear of cross-infection.
