I’m a first time cat owner, I adopted her about 3 months ago, she is a 2 year old domestic short haired cat and when I adopted her the vets cleared her as far her health goes.
I’ve noticed within the last few weeks her poop has been somewhat soft and she also drags her butt. I took her to the vet they checked for anal glands, no problems there, they also tested for parasites and they said she doesn’t have any of that either. so they sent me home with probiotics.
Now the problem is, I’ve noticed she leaves little poop droppings in random places of the house. they are very small almost like a rabbit turd and they are very soft. my initial thought was that maybe she pooped in her box and the poops got stuck on her fur so she dragged it out, that hasn’t been the case. sometimes her litter box is completely clean. then I thought maybe she has pooped somewhere else in the apartment and stepped in it or something but I’ve looked at every corner and crevice and I haven’t found any. plus our apartment is very small and I’m sure I would have smelled it. she doesn’t seem to be in stress when it happens. one thing she is laying by my head knitting on my pillow and purring next thing I wake up with a little turd my by head.
has anyone else experienced this? if so what steps did you take to fix it? has this got anything to do with her poops being soft? perhaps her diet? Please let me know. this is my first cat and I’m not very experienced.
